hi I have a female bunny, 5 months, that we just had spayed. when she came home from the vet she was in a onesie and after a few hours the onesie was really pushing her dewlap up around her neck it looked huge. we took the onesie off and tried her with the cone, same sort of problem. it’s been 2 days and I have now taken them both off however her dewlap looks pretty prominent still.

I should note I never noticed a dewlap on her pre-spay.

just wondering if this is normal and it is just showing cuz it was pushed up for about 20 hours or if it’s something more serious, it is a bit asymetrical

To be honest I’m not very sure, but I would check in with the vet and ask. I would not expect a dewlap to stay displaced as it’s just a malleable portion of fat.

You said you never noticed a dewlap on her before the spay? I would take her to the vet. Can you feel the dewlap and make sure its just malleable fat like mentioned above? If it’s hard then it could be something more worrisome especially if it just formed after the surgery. Also is it possible to include a picture of the area?
