Hey everyone! I am new here and I am not sure if I am doing anything wrong… however, i just wanted to discuss about rabbit supplements with you all. Brownie is a female holland lop who is weighing 1.5kg. she is 4 years old. She had e-cuniculi, pneumonia, dental abscess and a few other health issues. We are new bunny parents, and we adopted her just 10 months ago, only to discover she had all these illnesses after we brought her to the vet for a spay. she is now ok. because of this, we give her a lot of supplements to boost her immune system. however, i am not sure if we are giving her too much? we are giving her:

        • immunize supplements
        • fibre plex supplements
        • bene bac
        • Sherwood urinary supplements
        • Sherwood digestive supplements
        • ground flax seed
        • critical care

is this too much? or is it okay since brownie’s immune system has been affected after all these illnesses? she was weighing 1.2 kg about 3 months ago, and her weight always changes. (not sure if its because of her health)

        thank You for your help!

Poor baby, she’s lucky to have you taking care of her!

So, I’m not familiar with the first two supplements on this list. Have you run these by your vet? That would be the best option!

Most people don’t give bene-bac daily, but I don’t think there is any harm in it. I also don’t think there are any contradictions with giving both the urinary and digestive supplements together, as long as they are used as directed.

Was the ground flax to help her gain weight?

Critical care and other recovery foods are perfectly fine to give to any rabbit that is in need of some extra nutrition, and after a dental issue I’m sure she needs the extra food.

Thank you DanaNM!!  Yep, the flax was to help her gain weight. My vet did recommend the fibre plex, but it was the liquid form, not the pellets and I am not sure if their the same thing. the immunize vitamins may be something that just exists locally and not in other countries so I will get that checked by the vet next month when i bring her for her check up. Thanks again 🙂
