Hey guys I haven’t been on here in months but it’s about time, I’ve missed this place!

Anyway, I was wondering if you guys could help me out with something. As some of you might know, I got two Angoras last fall and now only have one. She has been indoors since…March? But ever since Dusty ( her sister ), Ivory has been very skittish. This is a little but surprising as she is quite a sassy bun and will do anything she pleases. But sometimes I step into her room and she’ll go CRAZY. Sliping on the tile floor because she’s running SO fast! And grooming is awful, she’s always tooth chattering and freaking out, so scared. She almost jumped off the table and won’t eat.

Any advice? I haven’t been able to groom as much as I would like and some of her poops have hairs in them.

        Please Help

Do you give her warning that you’re stepping into her room? Occassionally my buns run around like crazy if they’ve been snoozing and I appear unexpectedly. So I try and talk to them from when I walk in the front door, so they are gradually warned.

As for grooming, it does need to be done – have you tried different methods? Will she tolerate it better if you sit on the floor with her? Or just pluck with your hands (although not sure if that works on angoras….). I’ve seen lots of people just cut angora fur, so maybe it would be better to cut her fur down once a month or so, than cause her lots of fear every few days.

Thank you. Yes, I almost always do yet she still freaks out. She won’t even be sleeping, just eating or grooming.
Sitting on the floor doesn’t work because she’ll run away. Plucking with my hands is a little bit better but she still always teeth chatters. The problem with that is that it’s a much, much slower progress and doesn’t get it all out. I’ll have to try cutting it down, I’ve only cut her hair when she has bad matts but not for grooming.

            Thank you so much
