Does anyone have any suggestion to cover wood floors during bunny free run time?  I put some towels down, but that only works for a few spots and they always get bunched up.  I know my buns want to run/jump and it’s hard on the wood surface.  I’ve thought about getting a cheap rug section?  Unfortunately my whole house is wood floors and tile…so I have to think of something.

        Thanks!

Why not buy some cheap rugs with a gummy mat underneath and lay them out when they have free run time? What kind of wood floors is it? We have limed wood floor, and that is no problem…only our tiles in the kitchen caused problems in the beginning, but if you are a bunny that wants to eat everything off the kitchen floor, then you gotta learn to run on the tiles, so they learned it very quickly

Thanks for the advice… Not sure exactly what the wood is (it was there when we moved in…), but it’s not real natural type wood, it has a bit of a sheen to it, I really can’t describe it. I think it could be pergo, but I’m not sure that that’s a generic term, being that you’re from Denmark that might not make any sense to you. Anyhow, it’s not that they can’t run well on it…it’s the running and having to stop short of the walls… I feel bad they have to slow down so they don’t “crash” into the wall if you know what I mean. As much as I love wood floors, I wish I had some carpet…I could only imagine the binkies that would follow…

I know Pergo…that is our kitchen floor. Okay, so it is not real wood. Then I can imagine, it is very slippery. Definitely go for the rugs then.

We have carpet in our hallway and that is actually the only place they do their binkies. So, if you give them a rug with a silicone rug mat underneath, (so it doesn’t move) you will see tons of binkies.

I actually bought a wall to wall carpet and just cut it out in pieces. It was cheap and it has the silicone (sorry, I had wine with my dinner, and gummy is the Danish word for rubber, which was I was trying to say!!!!! So, sorry) underneath, so that is recommendable.

But otherwise you can buy a mat to put under the rugs, so that it doesn’t move.

I bought a cheap rug from Walmart to put in the living room so the bunnies can get on the couch. I have hardwood too and they have a hard time jumping up on the couch directly from the hardwood, especially my lop with his big furry feet.. They love the rug but keep an eye out if you’ve got a chewer. Since it’s just a cheapie rug that doesn’t go with my decor, when I have guests I just roll it up and toss it aside. Along with the cardboard tunnel, litter box, cottontail cottage, etc…lol, Binky Land has to be dismantled when guests come over.
