OK, well in a nutshell my bunny is so affectionate today I’m worried!

Today, I went down about lunch time…Mr. Bunny was sitting under the chair…I went to sit down by it and he DASHED out from under the chair to see me!!! (as in, run-for-your-life bunny speed) He took his papaya tablet and started licking me nonstop and just wanting to be around me. I pet him like crazy, and he groomed me like no tomorrow! He was INCREDIBLY happy to see me!

Sooo…I just went to visit him again this afternoon, and again he dashed out from under the chair as I walked into the room…I had to pick him up just so he wouldn’t dash out of the room, then I put him down…the weird part is, he didn’t care that I had just picked him up suddenly. He just came over to me and groomed me nonstop again. I pet him like crazy, he cuddled up next to me (Something he NEVER does!) and he acted like the only purpose in his life was to be around me. At one point he groomed me nonstop for 10 minutes.  Eventually, when I had to leave the room, it took 3 cranberries and the help of another person for me to get out of the room – He was by the door and nipping my boots, not wanting me to go.

The thing is…Mr. Bunny isn’t usually THIS affectionate! He’s a very very smart and social bunny and loves people and does groom me sometimes, but he’s never like this! I love having my affectionate bunny, but this is ridiculous!  I can’t be with him 24/7!

What can I do about it? What could be causing him to…errm…love me so much?

Well it’s not hormones as he is neutered. They are very social animals and sounds like he’s craving more company. It there any way he could be in the main part of the house during the day for some time?

Unfortunately there isn’t…My mom doesn’t want him chewing on/jumping on the furniture, and both my parents agree it would be “too hard” to bunny-proof any rooms.

I mean it could just be his bond between you and him and he’s taken to showing it. If he seems happy I would be enjoying it while it lasts.
