For the first time while I was sitting at home I heard my rabbit (indoor) squirming around. I went and looked and she was twitching a bit trying to go in a circle while on her side.

I went and picked her up and brought her to a place I can watch her. Her head was shaking eyes darting and still attempting to move in a circle, it seems one side wasn’t behaving. Within a minute she the shaking quickly stopped and she was back to normal. This is the first time this has happened. She was still aware when I picked her up because she squirmed a little while I was getting her in position.

I’m guessing it was a seizure but I’m not sure how to proceed.

Some background, start of January she and her man had GI Stasis (I think the pet sitter may have messed up) but have since been fine. In terms of dietary change I have been giving them a small soup bowl of Kale (one bowl for them to share), in addition to always access Timothy Hay and Kaylee Timothy Complete pellets (1/3rd a cup per day shared between them). The only thing new is the Kale, so I’m not sure if I should cut back or stop that. The food is a little lower than people suggest, but if I give anymore there is food left after 24 hours, so I stick to 1/3rd cup as its either gone around the 24 hour point, or just a small amount left. Her appetite is normal, energy is normal, plenty of pooping,

Normally I’d take her to the vet to check, but the bout with GI Stasis maxed me out and I’m really tight on cash. I was hoping to get some advice, on any potential reasons and what to check for.

I don’t see any discharge from the nose or eyes, there also doesn’t seem to be any injuries. She may have just fell out of her litter box (though only 4″ off the carpet) and that could have triggered it.

Any advise or ideas would be helpful, thanks in advance.

What comes to mind is either a case of epilepsy, symptoms of EC or any other neurological accident (TIA for example). Call the vet and explain your situation, they might agree to delay payments or to check her for free if you are a returning client. I’d definitely get her checked as soon as possible though
