Last night we let Sucre have full run of the livingroom for the first time since we moved. He was a little shy at first, staying close to his cage but once he got a little more comforable man did he let loose!  He had SO much fun. He even jumped up on the couch… which he hasn’t done before! Too cute!

I do have a few questions though:

He is still peeing in the box but he is leaving random poops as he hops. Only close to his cage though. At the old place he pooped in the litter box everytime. Is he just claiming the land as his and this will wear off? Did I give him too much room too fast?

Also he seems to like to hang out between a small spot between two of our couches. He hasn’t yet but I’m worried he may start pooping and peeing there. Should I beat him to the punch and put a litter box there just in case or should I just let him choose if he want to make a potty there?

On a side note if all goes well Sucre will be neutered next wednesday!! Not as soon as I wanted but at least he is scheduled again.

Ooooh, bless his little heart – he is really cute! And so is Max They must be about the same size

Don’t worry about the poos he leaves. They should disappear once he is neutered.

I think he’s leaving poos to claim the new space in case any of you were wondering who it belongs to.

I wouldn’t put a litter box there just yet. Get him neutered and keep putting his poos back into his litter pan in his cage. You ultimately want him trained to go back to use it and then come out again if he will do that. His behavior will change anyway with the neuter.
