there has been a stray dog in my neighborhood. I’ve always assumed he just gets out of the yard. But today I had had enough of the owners’ irresponsibility and called animal control. The dog has tags (no address, though) so all animal control will do is slap the owners with a fine. So i eventually got him close enough to me to hook a leash on him. He let me sratch his head so I’m giving him loves and then I notice how ridiculously thin he is. He’s some kind of chow mix, so he’s really furry, but under the fur, he’s pure skin and bones. His spine is protruding at least an inch. So I yell to my mom in the house to get some dog food. He scarfs two bowl fulls down. All this while I’m waiting for animal control, of course. Then he had to poo and literally ate his poo as it was coming out. it broke my heart. So I’m sitting outside with him, in the middle of Texas in 100+ temp, waiting (2 hours now) for animal control.

all of this to say: lets be responsible pet owners! leash your dogs, tag them/microchip. and if you see a stray, don’t assume its got a good home like i did!!

          Some people do not understand!!!
Just like a bunny, love, a good home, a family, and a secure environment, And its not just a dog anymore, its family.
Putting forth the effort with a dog is so rewarding and every dog deserves a chance to be a “Good boy”!!!

Poor puppy…… At least you were able to get a leash on him and he wasnt mean! I bet he is grateful that he got some food , and some attention for a little while. Its so sad, I cant watch those animal cops shows anymore cause everytime I see the poor animals it makes me teary…and very angry. I hope he does ok.

Hey I love the sonic bunny video.  How did you get it in siggy.

Poor dog.  Why can’t we treat people the way they treat their animals.

the animal control came and agreed with me that the dog was tooo skinny. she’s going to pursue it as a possible cruelty case.

thanks LC! he was such a sweetheart- glued to my side by the time animal control came (4 hours later haha). I don’t see how people can treat animals like that when its so easy to be responsible and loving. but i’m glad i sat outside with him- who knows how long he was alone?? such a good dog too.
