I was giving Logan a very thorough grooming last night (he hates to be brushed, so I usually just run a brush over him quickly and do a good grooming once a week or so), and when I got to the area above his tail, a bunch of hair fell out! As in, clumps of hair were getting stuck in the brush. I know when Bailey sheds, big clumps will come out, so I just assumed Logan was finally shedding, since he didn’t really shed in the spring. However… now he has a bald-ish spot on his back, right above his tail. There’s new hair growth- the soft fuzzy stuff- on the patch, but it looks a little horrifying to me. He’s also getting mats in his tail (lots of really little, but really stuck-together ones), and I couldn’t work all of them out because he was getting so upset/nervous/reaaaally wanted to be left alone
Should I put something on his bald spot, like neosporin? Am I supposed to cut the mats on his tail, or is there a better way to remove those?
^ This is the bald-ish spot, right above his tail. The pink is skin, and the gray is the new fuzz coming through.
