Hi everyone, I’m back with more questions. Layla has not been fixed yet, as i havent found an appropriate vet! So, layla is quite loving, but also aggressive. she likes alone time – under the bed, in her cage – and i have learnt that if she’s there, i dont go near. (unless i have a death wish for my fingers!!) anyways, about a week ago, she started behaving very bizarrely. she is following us around the house, constantly licking and love nipping our feet and ankles. she’s never in “alone time”. wen we sit att the computer she scratches at our feet and licks like a crazy bunny. when i sit on the couch she would usually like to sit with me, but now she is all over me, lickingmy arms and my hands non stop. sh is also scattering very smelly poop all over the floor. something she has never done. im enjoying all the bunny love, but it’s all a bit strange. whats going on with her?? also, how to i upload a profile pic? thanks. the pic is off lushy loving life after being brushed!
it’s puberty. she has chosen you as a mate. it is a bit flattering at first, but it’s going to get very annoying quickly. where do you live? have you been calling vets?
It’s definitely puberty.
Also if you can, I would restrict her getting under the bed at all. I’ve had very bad experiences trying to get a sick bun out from under the bed and it makes it more stressful for you and the bunny. Also they are smart and will tear the cloth underneath and get up into the box springs – a blast for them, a pain in the butt for you.
aaawwww, you’re spoken for by your bunny! I went through several small stuffies for my buns until I had everyone neutered and spayed..lol. Didn’t someone here have a bun who fell in love with her fuzzy slipper?
I know it’s a very loving/awsome/annoying time, keep us updated….I’m not laughing at you, really, been there, been bit and loved
Kathy
Re: profile pic This worked for me…
1) go into “My Profile” then “edit profile”. At bottom page you can upload pic as Avatar (this will show in left column everytime you post) or as Profile pic (only on view when we check out your profile!)
2) Click on the browse button and you should see a list of programs and files for your computer. Find were your photo is filed and click on it. The pathway should now be displayed in the line next to Avatar or Profile pic. Done, dont forget to save the change!
If you want to add photo to body of a post (pleeease!) - go to “message attachments” underneath script box and click on browse button as before.
Good Luck! Look forward to seeing Miss Layla!
oh my! hee hee. but she does it to my boyfriend too! oi, im having a good laugh…how do i break it to her that im not a bun?
thanks for all the replies. I live in Jerusalem, Israel and I contacted a vet that works at the university, but he never got back to me. So now I’m just going through the phone book….the pic is of layla lovinglife after a good brush. when she first bunny flopped i thought she had died!!
i think she is a jersey wooly, but i have no idea. the pet store called her a japenese rabbit. (in hebrew at least) what do you think?

Thanks for the pics! She’s lovely! The colouring is fantastic. She does look like a jersey wooly except her ears seem a bit bigger – perhaps a mix breed??
Oh my gosh she is too beautiful!!!!
She’s adorable. She’s fuzzy and her coloring is a Harlequin coloring. She doesn’t really look like a Jersey Wooley to me though. Jersey Wooleys look like Netherland Dwarfs with long hair (short ears and flat faces). She is just too too cute. I love the last picture.

Hi,
That is one gorgeous bunny!!! I love olve love pix of bunny flops. sigh.
Above is a link I found from the House Rabbit Society’s International Vet listing. Might help. Scroll down the page for Israel.
AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!
she is so cute!!! eeeeek! i really love her colors and her puffiness! i think i remember you asking about vets before in Jerusalem and i have no clue. do you have a phone book or directory over there that you can search exotic vets? you may not be able to find the utmost authority on rabbit care, you might have to settle for someone a little less experienced, as much as i hate to say it. i would continue to call around, you may want to try and contact rescues or shelters to see what vets they use.
omgosh she’s so adoreable! i love the pic with the stuffies… reminds me of e.t.
good luck finding a vet & keep us posted on your progress.

Here’s a link to a vet in Tel Aviv from Petbunny. This was posted in 12/03 but it’s worth exploring. I’m not sure if the person who recommended this vet is still around but there is a link to her email – worth trying to email her or contacting this vet office.
ooo my she’s cute!! yup – it’s time to have her spayed for sure – glad sarita was able to give you a lead
Oh, wow, she is gorgeous!!
Hopefully one of the vets that are in the links that rabbitpam and Sarita gave you will work out.
Here is a link to a great article about how to find a rabbit savvy vet. It even includes screening questions and the answers that the vet should be giving you http://www.rabbit.org/faq/sections/vet.html
Keep us updated.
SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!! Sheesh, that is one seriously adorable rabbit! I just want to pick her up and snorgle her all night long!
oh, i clive such nachas (yiddish for, hmmm, i guess being really proud) when i hear praise for layla! i went to tell her how cute everyone thinks she is, and she puffed herself up and licked my nose – so i guess she says thanks for the compliments! (even though she totally knows how cute she is. she is totally manipulative about her cuteness….if we arent paying enough attention to her, she tends to wee somewhere she’s not allowed to and then when i see it, she gets all cute and puffy and loving…very cheeky) thnks for the help with the vet. i ll def keep everyone updated…im actually in exam period at the moment, so ive postponed the vet search until july. the thing is, i dont have a car, so wherever i take her it has to be in jerusalem so that i can take a cab…i’m so nervous about the whole thing! she’s a real little character…ive had her for a few months and when i first got her i didnt realise how, i guess real, they are! she is so intelligent and cheeky! (im gushing….he he)
thanks everyone! i love this place….im feeling so full of bunny love
omg She is soooo gorgeous I just want to hold her!!!
Welcome to Binkybunny!! How’s the ‘vet finding’ going?
My bunny licks me non-stop and knows to go on the couch when I let her out of her ‘nest’ in the morning cause thats where I will sit to eat my breakfast and give her -her morning salad.
I have a spay appt. for her in 2 days! Will she stop loving and licking me??
agraybun – many bunnies are still affectionate after being spayed. what cuts down is the aggression and territorial behaviors, usually.
you might really consider getting your bunny a friend, since it sounds like she is VERY social and would be happy with somebunny to love. Sending good wishes for the spay~
I was thinking that after she was spayed I would start looking for a bunny friend. However, my boyfriend made a impulse buy
on a little bunny baby. I thought it was going to be bad because she is like 1 year old and probably won’t tolerate a baby. and I was right. So they are in separate cages now and I shall try again in a month after the spay.
How can you know if your bunny wants to be an only bunny or wants to be a bonded bunny?
