        Lately Pippin has started randomly moving his head up and down and I cant tell why. I posted a video on my youtube chanel as an example.

          It’s pretty hard to tell why he’s doing this. At first glance I can’t see anything out of the ordinary, but it’s a pretty short film clip. It’s always handy to use this medical checklist:

          – Does your rabbit eat, drink, pee and poop normally?
          – Is he audibly gasping for air, does he have any nasal discharge or runny eyes?
          – Is he overly itchy or have you seen signs of fleas or mites? These are most often seen around the ears.
          – Did his behaviour change? More/less cuddly, tendency to hide, easily startled? There may be things in the house which stress him out.
          – Are there any signs that his hearing could be affected?
          – Does he have problems balancing or moving around?

          If any of these questions raise concerns, it’d be best to take him to the vet for an exam. Monitor him closely: rabbits are masters at hiding illnesses.
