strange bonding behavior after spaying

Any advice would be appreciated.  I have two buns, a small lionhead female and larger lionhead/lop neutered male.  They had started to bond.  I got the female spayed.  Now the male is chasing the female and trying to hump and not being very nice.  Before the spay the female was the aggressor and the male was very docile. 

 Is the new male behavior because the female is more hormonal after the spaying or because he senses that she is less aggressive?  Will they ever bond again?  I want Mabel and Walter to be able to live together.    Thanks!

They will most likely bond again, but you need to separate them for now. The girl needs to heal for a few weeks without being humped and chased, and the boy too should be neutered before you start to rebond them. Separate them right away so they don’t get into any really bad fights, that will lower the chances of rebonding later on. Keep them where they can smell and hear each other, because they will miss each other.
