My rabbit is pretty chill most of the time and doesn’t cause much trouble, that was until today when she started stomping her feet in her cage, she seems very alert and moves about pretty often. Her cage has 2 levels, now she’s on the second level. I guess she’s kind of trying to hide? It’s pretty obvious that she’s there and she seems to be looking on the first floor for something. Is this normal? She’s pretty calm now, could those have been binkies?

She might have smelled something. Or weather might be changing. My bun thumps for both reasons (among others).

It sounds like she was thumping instead of binkying.

Like Q8 said, she could’ve smelled or heard something you didn’t. Rabbits are much more sensitive than humans so sometimes they smell or hear things we don’t, which would result in thumping. In the wild, rabbits thump their feet to warn others about potential danger.

My wee guy Bodie thumps for pretty much any reason – scared of the sound of tinfoil, irritated that I won’t give him a cranberry, excited that he’s allowed in the bedroom…
I’d maybe have a wee look in the ground floor of her cage; maybe a wee beastie gave her a fright. Good that she’s chilled now!
