Hello, a few weeks ago Rain reached a point where she refused to eat at all and we had to get her checked out by the vet where they gave her pain medications and some antibiotics for pasturella. They didn’t identify any specific problems though, they just said the antibiotic was incase she had a low grade infection. Her teeth were fine apparently. A week after finishing the medications she was back to normal except for eating hay which she refuses to eat since many months ago. This week her poops are much smaller and she’s getting picky again. Also, she’s been having sneezing fits since March and they seem to have remained after the meds. Sometimes they seem really intense and I feel like she’s going to choke or something, they seem really bad as of late. What should I do since the only vet we could take her to didn’t seem to find any major problems?

Hmmm, did they do an x-ray of her teeth? Tooth root issues can cause sneezing, and refusal to eat hay is one of the tell-tale signs of dental issues. If they didn’t do an deep molar exam (requiring anesthesia) or an x-ray of her head, that would be my next move.

That’s very stressful that you aren’t confident in your vet. Are there any others in the area? Even driving a bit to get to a good vet might be worth it.

I agree with Dana. Definitely something to look into.
