It is with such sadness that I let you know that LittlePuffyTail’s beautiful Sterling has passed away.  This was sudden and is a terrible shock. This loveable, big white bun is well-loved here at BB and he will be greatly missed.

Binky Free, Sterling!  Please visit your human Mama in a dream and let her feel you once again.

LPT, Im just wishing you were not facing this.    Any bunny is so lucky to be brought home and be cherished by you and the family. He so quickly intergrated into your family and brought much happiness. He knew he was with a true bunny lover.

It’s so incredibly sad, LPT. He was like a fairytale bunny, so beautiful. I remember when you first introduced him to us, we all instantly fell in love with him. How could we not? He was something quite out of the ordinary.

Thanks everyone. I still can’t believe he is gone. My heart was sort of trying to prepare for Bindi passing, but this was so unexpected and quick. He was perfectly fine the night before. A huge hole in my heart. There will never be another bunny like him. He was one-of-a-kind for sure.

It’s a week today. Hard to believe. The pain is not getting any easier. I’ve loved and lost many animals but I’m taking this one really hard. Bindi is doing okay. I was worried he would be upset with Sterling gone. They were not bonded but still enjoyed each others’ company. The day after Sterling died, Bindi seemed to be looking for him by his pen. I’ve left Sterling’s pen up for Bindi, since he’s blind and he knows the outline of all the rooms. I thought it might confuse him if I took it down. But I might get my husband to take it down this weekend. Hard to see an empty pen. I keep expecting him to run out of his house asking for a treat.

I had my baby cremated which always do. A way to sort of keep them here with me. I’m looking at different options for a custom urn.

Very emotional mail day yesterday. I got a sympathy card from my vet with his pawprint and a lock of fur. As well as this beautiful statue which I’m going to use as an urn which was sent to me by an FB friend who also recently lost a beloved bun.

I know that feeling… I wanted to make a photo book of Bunston after he passed, but it took me close to two years to finally be able to do it.

I’m terribly sorry that I haven’t replied to this thread until now. To hear of Sterling’s passing was a real shock, such a lively, vibrant bun and just like that, he’s gone. I always enjoyed seeing pictures of him and hearing about his antics.

The statue/urn is beautiful and the lock of fur is such a lovely keepsake.

Ricky put his ashes in the Urn last night and cut 3 hearts out of his cardboard hidey box that we all kissed and put in the urn as well.

An FB friend just put out a children’s book called “Bunnies A-Z” and she put a few pics of Sterling in it. It was released a few days after his passing so that’s pretty sad. But I will order it as a nice memory when I feel ready.

That sounds like a very loving way to honor sweet Sterling. What a beautiful tribute. With grief comes healing, something that cannot be rushed, so take all the time you need. I hope your friend’s book will become a lifelong keepsake – it looks like a wonderful resource. We’re all here for you. <3.
