Since Leroy has laid claim to the living and dining rooms, I’ve noticed that when he isn’t running around or sleeping, he likes to sit at the sliding glass door that leads out to the yard and just look outside.  He’s never been outside, and as far as I know, there’s nothing of interest out there.  I have seen a little wild bunny out there, but he hasn’t been around recently.   Does anyone have rabbits that stare out windows?  Does anyone know why he might be doing this?

The only think I can think of is that the wild bunny IS still around and Leroy is just nosey .  I’ve looked out the window to try to see what he’s looking at but didn’t find anything.  Leroy hasn’t made any sort of moves or reactions from anything on the other side of the door – he’s not thumping or growling or lunging at anything outside, nor does he ever run away from the window as if something outside frightened him.  He’ll get himself in behind the blinds and then just sit there and look and look and look.  I’d say it’s that he’s just enjoying the sunshine, but he sits there when it’s dark out too…  *Shrug* Maybe it’s just something he likes to do, and I’ll never know why.  I’ve already resigned myself to the fact that  I’ll probably never figure out all of what’s going on in that head.

I got a picture of him because he looks so silly…

I have one that sits under the curtains by the sliding glass window in my upstairs bedroom – I’m not sure if he’s hiding from me…mostly he just sleeps there though. There isn’t anything to see out this window either at his level but a balcony.

I honestly cannot say what’s going on in Pepe’s head though. Rabbits also are supposed to be farsighted so I have to wonder if he can even see that wild bunny. I also think they see more “shapes” and less definition too.

Sammy’s wicker basket is right next to the livingroom sliding glass door/window. She chewed a large hole on one side of the basket so she could have a window to see out the window while she’s under there.

I like to sit and gaze out the window. I think it’s the same impulse. It’s relaxing.

my Monkey does the same thing, her pen has the sliding glass door to the balcony in it, and if she isn’t actually playing with the vertical blinds, she’s sitting between them and the glass staring outside. Weirdo bun.

Thats sooooooo cute!!!! My bunny “mouse!” Cant actually see out of our window, but she has stood up towards the windowsill a lot, its a little high for her to jump, so i put her on there one day and she did sit for a while, and always looks at the windowsill now, I wish she could look outside more often, I wish I could let her outside full stop really, but we are in a flat at the moment so thats a no no, once i get moved to a house by the council fingers crossed it will have a garden for my 2 buns to have some fun in!! That is just the cutest photo though!
