I’m always planning to grow greens…..  You could try alfalfa, watercress, clover sprouts, maybe pea sprouts(?) I bought a cat grass kit a while ago, these are often wheat, oat, orchard/cocksfoot grass. Also, you can grow carrot tops in just water! You just cut of top inch of carrot and half submerge in dish of water (with the sprouting end facing upward!).

you can grow different things. i have never grown my own veggies for the buns b/c they go thru so many, i think it would be too much work for ultimately only a couple days worth of veggies.

Thanks a lot, Jerseygirl!  I like the carrot top idea. I just want to do it for fun because I’ve got that sprouting kit sitting in my basement, and the rabbits cann eat it, too. I miss gardening, winter where I am is seven months long.

Hey Beka27: no way, am I even gonna attempt to become independent fom my vegetable store!!!!!! That would be …impossible.

I asked for one of those Chia Pet Herb Garden kits for christmas! lol It is a kit that comes with 6 herbs and the only one a bun couldnt have is Chives. Havent even messed w/ it yet but want to try and grow some. With 4 buns it wont make much of anything but if I can get started I would love to have a garden for my wild bunnies to eat. I have talked and talked forever about having an outside garden for my wild bunnies.

I generally plant oregano, parsley, marigolds and basil in the spring then give them to the buns. My thumg is sooo not green (more like black) so I don’t get a great yield or anything-but its very fresh and they love it so it’s worth it

I found that parsley is a pretty easy one to grow as long as you give it a lot of light, my parsley plant grew HUGE last year, and the bunnies definitely preferred the home grown parsley over the store bought stuff.
