The past week or so I’ve noticed Warri’s had wet spots on his back, just above his tail. Its probably happened about 4 times that I’ve noticed. It’s definitely not urine and smells musky. So I’m thinking maybe it’s coming from a scent gland.

I can’t possibly imagine how Warri is getting it on himself if its coming from him, there’s no wet trail from his bottom and he’s always dry underneath. Could my other rabbit be spraying him? Peepi has been chasing him more the past few weeks, so maybe? But they are both fixed and they’ve never sprayed before.

Can rabbits even spray from the anal scent gland?

Well, when I took Noelle bunny dating, the one rabbit got quite vigorous mounting Noelle and when she was removed Noelle had a nice wet, musky back. To my knowledge bunnies don’t spray from the scent glands, so my guess is that Peepi is mounting Warri on the sly and that’s the source of the wet spots.

            BM:  LOVE THEM EARS!!!

Trigger used to spray urine on the girls he liked.  It was just asaulting!  He would introduce himself by peeing on them….it was sooo nasty.  Are you sure that he’s not laying up against his water bottle or something.  Leo has a tendency to lay underneath his water spout and often has a damp spot on his forehead.  I was freaked out for a while until I really started to observe him.  Also, Jessi likes to groom his ears, so the bottom of his ears are often damp.  Just some thoughts.

Thanks = Wally loves his ears too! He’s grown into them a bit more since that picture was taken, so he doesn’t look quite as ridiculous anymore. 🙂
