I posted last week about how lucky I was that my two lops haven’t chewed through anything yet.  I knew I spoke to soon!  I must have jinksed (spelling?) them.  Today, my son told me they ate up his carpet.  I didn’t believe him at first but I had to see for myself.  Sure enough, behind his door they have completely lifted and torn apart (literally into individual fibers!) clear down to the subfloor!!!!!!  I mean its gone; nothing but fuzzies left on top of where a six inch round spot of carpet should be.  SNEAKY!!!!!!  Oh, well!  I knew something had to get chewed eventually.

Coincidentally this happed the same week Kazi and Trix went bizzerk in their cage…well, Trix mostly.  She completely scraped out her litter box and flung it everywhere!  This is very not like her…but only did it that once and has seemed fine since.  I guess we’re all allowed a bad week now and then!

*snicker* Yep these furry little bundles are sneaky! I used to think how well behaved my buns were until I discovered the same thing one day. Awe but they are so cute, you gotta love them.

Mine has recently decided to "redecorate" his room as well. Even though he has every bunny toy known to man, a full food dish, and tons of hay, he thought that ripping up the sheetrock would be great fun. So, down near the baseboard I now have a section about 4"x5" with no top layer of sheetrock. Oh well, it’s his room. At least he didn’t actually eat it!

yeah you gotta love finding those spots!  one night i could hear a weird scraping sound… got up to see what the heck it was & was baffled… then in the morning, upon closer inspection in daylight,  i found a pile of plaster dust in the hall corner.  baby had chewed a wee section of wall into the corner down to the metal lath!!!  sneaky devil

I can’t leave my buns unsupervised because they dig up the carpet too in the corners and Stormy will eat it. Bad Bad Bunnies!!!

As soon as bunnies find one little loose piece of carpet – unfortunately they like to chew and chew at it Most of my bunnies LOVE to chew so I have their cage floored with their own individual rug – so that they will chew that (if anything) and not my carpet. I have found that as long as you keep the edges of the carpet OUTSIDE of the cage and outside of their reach – they tend to leave it alone. If they get ahold of the edge though, thats when they start chewin.

My man Bonsai loves to strip wallpaper. I heard this riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiip in the kitchen, I went out there to see what it was and there was a huge 8″ piece of wallpaper stripped off and I looked at Bonsai (who had a piece of the paper still in his mouth) and I said, did you just do that? He looked at me like, what, who me? LOL

Glad to see I’m not alone! That’s a great idea about giving them a piece of carpet in their cage….I don’t know though, I’d hate to encourage that behavior. Ahhhhhh, life with buns…gotta love it!

This reminds me of a question I have in my mind whenever I find some new fabric with a hole chewed in it, or find a pee spot someplace "Why do we keep these infernal creatures anyway?"  Then they stand on their hind legs and fold their ears back in that "You are just the greatest thing in the world, please pet me" look, and all is forgiven somehow.
