        Hi, Everyone,

I hopped onto this website last month and as you know from my posts, have really enjoyed it since.

I don’t mean to make anyone sad, but I had a precious bunny for 8 years (J. S. Spock, aka Spockie) and he passed away on Dec. 5, 2007. After going to the Rainbow Bridge for several weeks for some great comfort, I discovered this site. Well, I have had wonderful daily reminders of all the fun I had with Spockie, as well as an opportunity to share lessons learned that I hope have been of help to some of you.

I thought I’d post this introduction, and show you a tiny video clip of my sweet guy, taken in 2005. I have about a dozen of these videos, and created a longer one this weekend with some music and editing, but now I can’t load up the long one with my dial-up.

Edit: 2/10 I came across this as I was researching trouble with my website, and it had deleted the site address and video in this post. Since I have posted better videos since I wrote this, I am leaving it as is, with the video missing. I can’t believe how much has happened since this post, and Samantha Bunnykins and I will always remember my dear Spockie with great love. RP

What a cute bun. Losing someone you love, furry or human, is the hardest thing in the world. I have two former buns in the rainbow bridge and it’s still hard to this day. You just have to cherish every bunny filled day with them.

Thanks for sharing, Spockie had a wonderful human companion. It’s nice to know that this bunny had a wonderful life with someone that loved him unconditional. RIP Spockie.

I hope you can find it in your heart to adopt another bun soon.  I have been rereading the James Herriot books lately and his advice to someone who lost a beloved animal was always to get another as soon as possible.  Not as a replacement, of course, but as a continuation of the love of animals.  You’ll know when the time is right.  Thanks for sharing Spockie stories with us!

Thank you all so much for your very kind words.

I’ve actually been ready for a new bunny for several weeks now, but I have been job hunting, and with a background in the arts it’s tricky when it comes to finding a good fit, and I’m not leaving this area. As soon as I get a job, I have supplies for a new bunny all ready. Meanwhile I’ve been scoping out local sources for getting a new little one. I already have a great vet. Visiting this site gives me my “bunny fix” while I look. Actually, here I am on this site instead of the job hunting sites! I’ve used this time to research other breeds, only to confirm that my favorite is still a mini rex, though I may opt for a dwarf instead depending on who I find when it’s time. I am quite optimistic about 2008, so expect good news soon.

Your bunnies are sooooooo cute. I love seeing your pictures!
