Hello there. Does anyone know if there are books out on specific breeds of rabbits? I’m looking for a Netherland Dwarf book? I’d also like to find out the standard for Netherland Dwarfs out of curiousity. I know Lily is a siamese sable, but I’m just curious if her white front paws would be considered a flaw in showing. Thanks everyone!

        Michaela

          Hi Michaela

You might find more info thru the American Netherland Dwarf Rabbit Club http://www.andrc.com/ or contact someone there to find more resources.

I saw a book about dwarf bunnies at the pet store… It included hotots lionheads and other small breeds… Not necessarily all about nethies..

Maybe try the public library…  I have seen some pretty current books on rabbits around.

oH or try Amazon books  they probably have some.

There are some specific books at the library in my city… but they are not so much breed-related as “type”… there’s a book on dwarfs, a book on on lops, but there can be so many variations within these rabbits that I don’t think they’re really worth your time. A lot of the books seem to be aimed at children/teenagers, have outdated care and health info, and deal with breeding and showing (SCARY COMBINATION!) I would look online for breed standards, Jersey posted a good link.

Hm… Alright. Thank you. Maybe I should just write one myself. haha. C.s. Lewis once said to J.R.R. Tolkien, “We can’t find books we like to read, so we’re going to have to write them ourselves”. 😀 Thanks for you help.
