        Hi everyone!

Backstory: I have been a bunny mom for over 15 years. I have always taken in bunny’s with special problems.
My current Bunny’s name is Robot she is 2 1/2 years old spayed at 6months, She has a slight permanent head tilt. The vet(s) I have taken her too have all told me she can live a long happy normal life. She only has some slight balance problems ( ie: can only groom herself 1 paw at a time and can’t stand on her hind legs for long.) Robot also can’t reach her bum to groom herself so I do this twice daily she also has a hard time cleaning the down side of her head. So I thought it might be a good idea to adopt a second bun to help groom her and keep her company. ( I wanted to find the right bunny at the right time) So I recently adopted a Male bunny he’s around 3 years of age and his previous owner never neutered him! ( I brought him to have him neutered soon after adopting) He was bonded to another bunny who passed away under very sad circumstances and I thought this would be perfect to give him another chance at bonding, and my girl needed a friend. so He has settled in well and has a great personality not to mention he is a super clean bunny! Has yet to miss his litter box. He’s very active and very friendly with Robot and we are working on bonding. ( there is grooming ) We have decided to name him Bishop (after an Android in a favorite movie).

Now the reason am posting is there is no way even after 15 years that I know everything about bun’s so I’m hoping to get some opinions or help from anyone who may have experienced anything like this. Robot is kind of like a log. She is not super super active. She is extremely affectionate and grooms me constantly if I’m holding her but as soon as I put her on the floor she just kind of sits there grinding her teeth once and a while she will get a burst of energy and dart across the room and sometimes does a little bink. I am noticing her lack of activity after adopting bishop. Bishop is super active hops up on the furniture and my lap terrorizes the dog and and just great fun, he also nudges loads and is not afraid to get right up in my face for rubbings. For over a year I have been collecting tunnels and loads and loads of toys anything bunny appropriate and stimulating to Robot (they are super spoiled buns who are only penned in at night in my bedroom) Robot only really chews on her grass mats and once and a while plays with her toss keys. She also loves her tunnels. So I’m not sure if I broke her? Or if this is normal for a bun with a slight head tilt, to not be super active. sometimes I wonder if it’s her fur? Robot is a double mane lion head and I try to keep her face trimmed so she’s not blind. There was a point in time where she would bump into furniture, Bishop is a standard coat lionhead and seems to have no problem seeing.

        Any experienced advice is appreciated.

        Sam

I do not, but perhaps these rabbit owners’ experiences may be helpful:

Bonded pair of a partially blind rabbit and a rabbit with a paralyzed back.

Bonded pair of a otherwise healthy-rabbit and a rabbit with permanent head tilt.
