Hey guys! Lola got spayed today, and I was just wondering if it’s normal for her to not have pooped yet? I picked her up at 3 today. I got her to eat a little bit, but I don’t think she has drank anything yet either.. she has been laying in her litterbox ever since she got home and isn’t moving around hardly. I know it was a big surgery and I’m sure she’s sore. I just can’t help but to worry!

My bun Dixie did nothing but sleep for about 18 hours after she was spayed. Did the doctor give you pain meds? My doc ended up giving me a stronger pain med for my bun and it perked her right up and she started too act closer too normal. She didn’t eat though for 24 hours, she drank water 2 times. By the third day she was much better. It’s normal too worry, I was worried sick for day’s.

Mine didn’t eat much either! I was so worried… the only thing that tempted them the following day was fresh oat hay, they wouldn’t touch anything else but after eating that they got back to normal fairly quickly! I think it’s normal for this to happen, judging by everyone else’s advice I had when mine were spayed good luck, I’m sure she will be fine but if you get super worried I would give the vet a call just to check in ??

Yeah, they gave me meloxicam I think and something to help her gut keep moving. She’s been eating, just haven’t gotten any poops yet :/ the pain meds are 1.5mg/ml and they have 6 pre-measured syringes of .35 CC’s. I’m supposed to give her a dose every 12 hours. She had one last night at 7 and this morning at 7.

How’s your baby doing? My Runa was just spayed on the 13th. Like others, she mostly just sat in a corner & didn’t move a whole lot for the first full day. I had the opposite of yours though; my girl was pooping & peeing just fine, but was not wanting to eat or drink much at all for the first 2 days but by the 3rd day she had her full appetite back.

As far as yours not pooping, I’m sure her body is just very thrown off right now, but of course she needs to be going potty at some point. Hopefully she’s gone potty since last you posted?
