Hi. I have 2 holland lop girls and they are due for spaying.

I found an Exotic Pets Clinic and they are charging $500++ for each bunny. They will stay overnight and will release them the following day making sure they have eaten and poop. Then I found this low cost spay clinic for $80 with medicine. They go home on the afternoon. For those who have an experience, is it worth paying $500+ for each bunny or I can easily care for them and take the $80? For the $500+, nobody is even there overnight to stay with them.

Anybadvise too for post op care?

Does this clinic have rabbit savvy vets to perform the surgeries, and do you know if they perform a lot of spays and neuters on rabbits? If you feel comfortable with the vets, it seems like that would be the best. The rabbits I’ve had spayed or neutered always came home the same day usually late afternoon. I think a rabbit might recover better in their familiar home environment, with the people that love them. The fact that the exotic pets clinic wouldn’t have any staff there overnight would be worrisome to me. Make sure that you have plenty of your rabbits’ favorite greens and fruit on hand when they come home, in case they aren’t too keen on eating.

Yes, both clinics handle rabbits. Both do a lot of spaying/neutering rabbits. I guess I’ll just have them done in the low cost spaying clinic then.

            i’m scared!

            Thank you for your advise

I don’t see the point in the keeping them overnight in the 2nd clinic if noone is going to be there? The buns will be much better off at home where you can monitor them.
