Hey everyone! I’m getting my female rabbit spayed, and when her baby is old enough, I will be getting her spayed as well. I was wondering if anyone has experience with low-cost spay clinics. Would it be a bad idea to go to one. I found a humane society clinic through the Ohio House Rabbit Society. I’m still in high school and I don’t want to ask my parents to pay for them. I can take them to a different clinic if I have to. I’m going to call to ask how often they spay rabbits, and make sure everything sounds good.
When my sister got her female rabbit spayed at an exotics clinic, the tech used scissors the cut the bandages around the catheter, it went into her vein and she had to get emergency surgery and almost died. So I’m a little stressed about getting them done. I also know that the mortality rate of spays is really low, which is why I thought it might be safe. Once again, I worship my rabbits so I can get them done at a different clinic, but if this one’s safe it would work a lot better for me.
