  After having Sparty for one week, he is now starting to lick us obsessively! He licks my boyfriends entire face and neck and any part he can get to! He literally climbs his face to lick all over. He licks our hands everytime we stick them in the cage too. I am just wondering if it’s the salt from our skin or if it’s because he is so young and thinks we are his mother or if it’s just a normal bonding thing. Bomber never did this, so we are just curious!!

  Yeah, I think he’s showing you just how happy he is that you took him home. It took my bun 5 years before she felt I was worthy of her compliment.

  Edson isn’t quite that licky but he licks my legs and hands all the time. It’s so sweet. I just wonder if they are trying to groom us????

  Bunnies groom each other socially and as a way to establish hierarchy . When a bunny licks you, they are treating you like another rabbit and grooming you – this is a high compliment. You should reciprocate (though you are permitted to use your hands instead

  OMG, this is SO adorable! ^^ I am jealous, I would give anything for Mimzy to regularly give me bunny kisses!
  Bunnies like the scent of their favorite humans/other bunnies too. It’s how they recognize us. It sounds like Sparty may also be making sure you know you are his!
  I have cats who are constantly rubbing their faces on me to ‘mark’ me with their scent. The minute I get cleaned up, my little boy cat comes up to me and ‘re-stinks’ me so he can show I belong to him! ^^
  The only thing I would caution is, use of hand lotions or other products that Sparty might lick up during his grooming of you and your bf. Otherwise, just enjoy the fact that you have one power snuggler on your hands! How lucky!
