I saw the babies following her and trying to get close to her and she ran away. Does this mean she’s not gonna feed them anymore? They’re only 3 weeks old

She may have already fed them – I say just watch her and see. They are eating on their own now aren’t they?

This is normal for the  young to try to nurse and the mother runs off.  All animals do this at some point or another.

She feeds them at nite.  You will see thier little tummies round.  If you see ribs and no full looking tummy then they aren’t being fed.

A young animal CAN over feed if the mother doesn’t take care and stop them from nursing when necessary. If a young animal overfeeds it can die. The mother knows what she is doing.

Us humans worry so much lol.  Thats normal too.

hahaha bunnytowne I think I over worry too much lol

Sarita- they looks really healthy and have round tummies today so I guess she is feeding them at night still. I left hay in the cage but they don’t eat it yet, they only drink water.

At three weeks they are pretty much past the MAJOR DANGER PERIOD and they will start to nibble on mom’s pellets, hay and veggies. This is fine and normal.  Is there a way for mom to get away from them when she wants to, like a low NIC grid fence that she can hop but the babies cannot?

Yeah she has free range of the house, we never close her cage so she goes to the babies whenever she wants. I think she goes at night when we’re asleep.
