So the bonding process with Cady and Sophie is going great! Sophie has been spending tons of time in my room which is also Cadys room and we’ve hit the point where we can leave them alone for a few minutes at a time but…..the new problem that has occurred is that Sophie is basically showing Cady things he never thought of and vice versa.  For example this morning Cady jumped on his cage (he has never done this!!)  but Sophie has done it and I think I bothered him he couldnt so he had to try it….The good thing sophie learned is how to drink from a water bottle!! Im just curious if anyone has any tips on keeping bunnys off cages and deterring the monkey see monkey do when it comes to the bad behavior…

I don’t think you can deter them learning from each other – that’s just normal for any species and it has it’s good points and it’s bad points, but it’s part of life…learning from each other.

Is there a reason you wouldn’t want them on top of their cages? You can always add something to make the surface flat while they are out. It is good for them to explore and exercise so getting on top the cage doesn’t have to be a bad thing.

i wouldnt mind it..but right now the way my room is arranged I have an ottoman next to his cage with things on it and net to that is my tv stand, lol so basically if they can get up there they can get to anything in the room, Im going to re-arrange soon though and Im also curious should I move her entire cage in here or are they able to share one? I dont keep them caged its just more of their personal space…

Are they fully bonded now? If so they should share the same space but you are going to have to increase the cage size to accommodate 2 rabbits – they will need much more space sharing.

Im new at this so Im not sure how I know exactly when they are fully bonded but they are to the point where I can leave them alone to do things….and they are spending hours together with no problems…actually I havent had any problems with them at all other than the humping which seems to be calming down. Do I need to get a very large cage even if theyre not actually in it? I dont ever lock them in even when Im not home

Have you left them alone overnight together while you are home? Yes, even if they are locked in while you are not home, they need a large space to accommodate them, their litter box, food, etc…they need to have plenty of space to stretch out. You should consider ditching the cage and getting an x-pen which is 4 feet by 4 feet and should be plenty of space to house them when you have to lock them up.

I havent left them alone overnight together, Im going to do an overnight when Im home first and make sure all is well, plus I need to bunny proof for sophie now too, I havent locked cady up in probably 2 months so my room is set so he pretty much cant get into trouble, but sophie seems to be finding things he didnt and I dont want to bring her in until I know they can both have the same freedom
