Wick seems to have dry skin in his ear. I am alert that skin flakes can be a sign of mites, but it distinctly looks like dry skin that he sort of makes worse and flicks off flakes when he digs his back foot-claw to itch it. No worrying frequency of head shaking or grooming of the ears.

Any options to help the dry skin? I tried to take some photos, but it’s very hard to see on photo.

Hmmm….not sure about inside the ears but I used to use a tiny dab of Mineral Oil on Q-tip for Olivia’s dry. flaky ears on the outside. I assume it would be fine to use inside too as long as you are careful none drips down the canal.

I was going to suggest Bag Balm, but there is also Battles Udder Cream, its for cows but humans can use it too for dry skin, its a blue and white tub.

Mango butter ! Never heard of it.

But I will try out a tinge of olive oil. He may not like it, but it must be done!

                  Thank you everyone.

Do any of you know if jojoba is safe?

I know in humans it’s one of the closest oils to our skin, so it absorbs really well (vs. mineral which just sits on the surface, and can actually make skin drier by taking away our natural oils).

Not sure, but I do know it’s one of the less hydrating oils (hence recommended for greasy skin and hair).
