i havent posted in a long time.my computer doesnt recognize BB as a website.i dont know why.im just using my touch.

have been taking care of Ninja’s brother for a month now.his name is Koda.for the past 2 days,.he seems to be depressed or sick.he is the most binker bunny i know and lately he just stays in one corner for a long time.i try to move him and he leaves to another corner.his poops got smaller too and some have fur with it.i brush him every other day.he’s a full maned lionhead.

he still eats a lot of hay and wont turn down veggies or treats but he doesnt really eat pellets anymore.if i handfeed him,he would eat it but other than that,he just nibbles it here and there.

last night i let him free roam and he just explored a lil bit then he went to a corner again.

oh yeah, last night,he was in a corner and when he hopped away, there was a huge pee puddle where he was.i dont know if he peed while sleeping or before he hopped away.

is he sick or just depressed?if he is sick,is there anything i can do to ease his pain?

I’d take him in too. Not eating pellets sounds like he may have teeth issues maybe? He definitely needs a vet’s attention either way.

He sounds like he needs to see a vet. A bunny will sit and huddle quietly if they are in pain, and you can’t easily tell where it hurts. Or he may have an illness that’s making him quiet, like when you go to bed with a virus. (I know – I had to leave work yesterday.)

Depression is rarely the cause, though a bunny will act differently when their routine is disrupted. Are you pet sitting for his owner? If so, for how long? And if he’s being left in your care, then you have agreed to care for him at any sign of a problem, and this is not normal behavior. Please let a vet check him out.

I see. Actually, I would call the vet right away (or is it night where you are?) and see if there is a night or emergency staff number available so you can describe the behavior to someone over the phone and ask about giving him anything. Then make an appointment immediately to bring him in first thing in the AM. Otherwise, make him comfortable for the night. Did you clean the pee yet? Be sure he has fresh litter in a big enough pan for tonight. Put a bit of hay in one end for him to munch in case he sits in the litter pan which may actually feel comfortable to him. I don’t think a low dose of simethicone right away will do him any harm, but just enough to get him through tonight. You don’t want to mask a proper diagnosis.

If the owner is out of the country, I would act immediately with a trip to the vet but you may want to call the owner after you have an appointment, or possibly after you’ve seen the vet and have a report. While you do want to tell the owner if there is something wrong, a long distance call before you have taken responsible action might just be a worry where they can’t do anything about it. I assume you were given permission to make medical decisions up to a point in their absence. Better to act on the bunny’s behalf without delay and inform the owner you are doing whatever can be done than to ask the owner’s advice when they can’t even see the little guy to make a judgment call.

Koda didnt make it.i stayed up til 4 am keeping him company.we syringe fed him with water last night since he hasnt drank a lot for the past 2 days.he was doing better roaming around last night.he was munching on hay before i fell asleep.i woke up 3 hours later and he was lying down on his side and wasnt moving.i touched him and he was kinda stiff.i called him and he moved his back paw and that’s it.he’s gone.

i woke up early to bring him to the vet but he didnt make it.im so sad right now.i talked to his owner and she just asked me to take him to get cremated.

                      i miss him already.
