So I did a thing in Joeys pen. She loves hammocks but they are always too small for her. Sooooo I bought a hanging chair and hung it (securely) at the end of her enclosure.

She’s not really the destroying type unless it’s a cardboard box or cords. I will definitely snap a pic of her when she is snoozing in it.

That’s such a great idea! Why didn’t I think of that?

@LBJ10 I have been using hammocks since Pacey (I remember everyone thought I was insane back then giving a rabbit a hammock lol). But she is way too big for the hammocks I make and I saw this at the store and was like AHA! It’s working great so far. I don’t think it would if she liked to chew fabric or pee on fabric.

Oh, I love this idea! 😀 It looks so comfy and cozy, definitally need pics of her in it! 😉 Unfortunately, my ladies chew and pee on fabric. So, it wouldn’t work so great here… 😥

That looks so nice! I have no idea if my buns would be into something like that, but I’m sure my cat would love it!

Oh my gosh that’s adorable! Esther would probably jump up there, then realize it moved and freak out like “moooom! Why’d you do this to meeeeee? Nooooo! Stoopid human! I don’t want you to-“ pauses in disgust- “carry-me- ” *jumps down in terror and runs away with some foot flicks for good measure*

                            LOL

@Bu20055 I have a feeling if I put Tater Tot in there he would lose his mind. He jumps if my dog snores too loudly. Luckily Joey is a very chill rabbit and she loves things like this. I had a handmade hammock but it was just too small for her big booty.

Hehe. Bet she’s glad you found one that fits her booty lol. That’s hilarious about Tator Tot lol. Poor guy!

Esther’s pretty chill but is definitely an “all four paws on stable ground” kind of bun. Doesn’t stop her from trying to jump on things she shouldn’t and sinking in terror blaming me while I try to save her lol.

                                Buns sure are something 😆

Oh she looks too cute in there! Total snuggle bun!!

I never thought about buns liking hammocks, now I am wondering if Doria would. He does chew pillows, though more just little holes so it might work.

@prince I’ve had hammocks for bunnies since my first bunny in 2008. He loved laying in my shirt like a hammock so I got the idea. I had ferrets at the time so I sewed together a tent type hammock for Pacey and made sure it was stable (as in if he jumped out it didn’t fling it stayed stationary) and it was by far his favorite thing in the world.

I think the movement thing is what scares a lot of people away from hammocks. But making it so the base is steady but still sinks like a hammock is easier than it looks. Like take Joey’s above it has the saggy hammock part which would be super hard for her to get out of. But what you can’t see is I have a frame built around the bottom that allows her to stabilize her feet when she wants out. So it’s still a hammock but bunny friendly.

Doesn’t the fact that we’re a willing rabbit slave automatically make us crazy?
