Yeah, I am still working on bonding them. It has been getting better and better. It is so odd- both Cotton and Schroeder weigh within 2-4 ounces of each other with Schroeder weighing more. Everyone, myself included guessed at the vet that Cotton was the bigger bunny.
Cotton is from a pet store and Schroeder is a stray adopted from the Humane Society- and they are both supposed to be Mini Lops. Cotton has a short stub nose and is very stocky and has shorter legs. Schroeder is longer, leaner with a longer face and longer ears. Right now he is carrying his extra weight in his gut- but the vet says it should equal out soon. He was a bit skinny when I got him- crappy pellets, limited hay and no veggies. Goes to show the differences in a breed and who knows either could be a mix. I worry that Cotton will have teeth problems with such a short face- but it was her face and fat little cheeks that I fell in love with.
Bonding is getting better- along the way we have had to take some breaks due to injuries- Cotton bit Schroeder and cut upper and lower eyelid. Schroeder got a good hard bite onto her ear. And Schroders hair is finally growing in a little thicker to prevent wounds from the minor rump biting scuffles. I will have to take some video of them together. Sometimes Cotton is submissive and then gets fed up with mounting, and other times she wants nothing to do with him at all- tries to flee, and other times she is ready to take him on.
