I just let Jen’s rabbit, Halo run around on out enclosed back porch. She loved it. I noticed that her poo was a little soft. I looked at it closer to check if it was just a cecotrop but it was just a solid mass with no little bunches. It’s not runny, just soft. It was probably about a half an inch. It almost looked like a little dog turd but honkey (the dog) doesn’t eat dog poo…only rabbit and cat poo. We don’t have any cats either so I figured it was hers. When I put her back in her cage and grabbed something from the kitchen I noticed another one in her cage. She’s not really litter trained yet but we are working on that. My vet isn’t open because it’s Sunday.
I called Jen (she’s helping her mom pack up their house) and asked if she gave anything to Halo recently. I’ve been taking care of the feeding but I was just curious if she gave her one too many treats. She said she gave her a baby corn (like the ones in chinese food) about a week ago. I’m figuring that was probably not good for her but it couldn’t have been that because this just started. She got a dandelion treat (they are actually for Chincillas and they look like the little yogurt treats from the pet stores) last night.
Could it be that the dandelion treat is the cause? She’s eating hamster food like the kind Bunnie was on. We’re slowly switching her over to plain pellets. Could she have just had too many treats?
I’m keeping an eye on her and if need be, we’ll take her to the vet tomorrow. Do you guys think this is serious? I’m hoping that it will subside soon.
Also, she has been eating lots of hay. She loves it, but she has a bag of Bermuda grass. I usually just feed my buns Timothy hay. I can’t remember if Bermuda is the sweeter kind (could be why she loves it so much!)
