So what are you summer vacation plans?

I really want to go to Belize. I am trying to convince my bf that I’m not too wussy to scuba dive.

In August we’re going to Disneyland for the annual Bats Day in the fun park. It’s not an offical Disney event but thousands of goths decend upon Disney for a day – it’s great fun.

Vacation- what is that?! I haven’t had a true vacation since my honeymoon. (8 years ago) But someday….ho hum.

Poopy, you’ll just have to prove your boyfriend wrong!  I know that when my husband and I went spelunking (cave crawling), he thought for sure I’d freak at some points.  Well, in one of these caves, you enter down into it through a small hole in the ground. We hadn’t ever entered that way before and you sort of have to just drop down and believe the ground will be there as the guide assured us. Our guide went in first, and then Steve went in so he could assist me down, and all of a sudden he said "Wait….wait…eh…I’m feeling…..eh wait" He basically was having a panic attack or some claustrophobic reaction. (which I totally understand!! But he had been ribbing me before so much about how he thought I’d react, that i did get some evil pleasure out of his ordeal.) After about a minute he was able to brush it off and move on.

We are planning on camping soon, and then in October we’re traveling to Ohio where they have the scariest haunted house I have EVER experienced. It takes place in an very old prison – (where Shawshank Redemption was filmed) Now it’s a museum, and in October they give  haunted house tours and it’s SCARY!!!! http://www.forgottenoh.com/OSR/osr.html. The first time I went I closed my eyes the whole time. You go down these dark hallways, and down dark narrow stairways, and AHHHH!!! It just freaks me out. But for some reason I like that kind of stuff. Then we’re going to Cedar Point which is an incredible rollercoaster park.

So nothing exotic, grand, or deep, just plain ‘ol goofy fun. One day, though when we get enough time, I’d like to travel some place exotic.

BB you’llhave to wave at me as you pass by on your way to Ohio.  Wish I were going – I was a pro haunter for many years and still attend Transworld (The national halloween trade show) whenever it’s in town.

I’m not sure what I’m up to this summer.  Usually it’s renfaire gig season, but this year it’s a new band with a new name so bookings are a bit slow.  I was up near LaCrosse WI last weekend for a 3-day, but have most of the June weekends off.  It will be interesting to see what "normal people" do in summer.  I live 2 blocks from lake Michigan and haven’t been swimming in it in morethan a dozen years.

My usual "vacations:" come in dribs and drabs – short visits to friends and science-fiction conventions mostly.  Have one of the latter next weekend.  Maybe I’ll get my new linen kirtle done by then.

I think the time off I’ll have to take to go to Texas is the only vacation I’ll get this summer!  I just spent a little vacation week at the Best Friends Animal Sanctuary – the funny thing about working in an office is it makes me crave vacations where I do actual physical work.  Its nice to feel realllly tired when going to bed, and of course seeing all the animals was fantastic!

Woohoo we booked our vacation to Belize! I’m going to get certified for scuba. I’m nervous about leaving Medusa though. I can
1) leave her with Pooker’s parents…..but I am nervous they will let her play with Pookers & Dakota which could result in a fight
2) leave her with my family. Would be less stressful because no moving, but if she got sick they wouldn’t notice.

Congratulations!! What fun.

If you leave them with Pookers parents, won’t they obey your rules of no interaction? Let them know that it could be hard on Poopy! If they fight, that’s bad, If she makes friends and bonds, and then has to leave, that would be sad. So either way…no good.

If you leave her with your family – can you give them tips on what to watch for each day. Like poop in the box and that she comes for her favorite treat each day? Or do you fear regardless, they would be neglectful in that way.

You could find your local HRS or rabbit rescue and see if they board. I know that they would be able to spot illness right away, and certainly would know how to care for her.

I’M SO JEALOUS!!!  I LOVE TEXAS!!  Went to Dallas & Austin a few years back, then onto a friend’s in West Virginia.  Best holiday ever, & definitely lost my heart in Texas.  For me I’m hoping to get to my sister’s in Sweden for a few days, and me and the man,.. we’ll probably just manage camping in Dorset for a long weekend, (camping on a farm, open fires, bbq’s, sheepies running about every morning, clifftop views across to Portland…and plenty of shopping in Weymouth)  and hopefully spend the festive season in Gran Canaria.  Although if the boyfriend’s attitude is anything to go by this year we’ll not be doing anything (misery guts).

I live 2hrs from Mansfield- I had to look it up. I thought we lived closer.

We are supposed to go to TN in another week but we can only stay a few days because of my husbands job. My inlaws will bunny sit and hedgie sit while we are gone. She has never had to watch all four animals before. I may just take the hedgehog with us.

I don’t feel good leaving Medusa with anyone! It will be stressful on her to move somewhere else. And I don’t trust my family.

My inlaws see my buns a lot. We take them over there and they come to our house to see them. They are used to them and are comfortable watching them.

I know local HRS websites have people that will over to bunny sit. If it wasnt for my inlaws I would be finding a bunny person from HRs to bunnysit for us.

I would love to be able to come see you!  Maybe we can meet somewhere in the middle, or if you’re into rollercoasters, we’re going to Cedar Point. (oop!, my husband just said that’s even farther for you.)
