  So, as the title states, today was my attempt at cleaning Sully’s anal glands. The only problem was… I couldn’t find them! I have heard people say they are very obvious but I didn’t really see anything. Sully is very fluffy so maybe that was why? Or are they only obvious when they are blocked up? He was very good about the whole thing and let me cradle him on his back, and didn’t mind at all. I don’t really know if he was actually tranced at all but he was a very good boy about everything and didn’t hold a grudge!

  What a cutie! I haven’t found the anal glands either (only Otto will let me pick him up, but he gets fussy when I start poking around down there). From what I remember they should be right alongside his boy bits – more of a pocket than anything else.
  
  I will show these pics to Hannah and hope she gets the idea of being held and having her glands checked!

  My lop is a bit fluffier down there than my other two as well, so it is kinda hard to find those buggers. But believe me,when you DO find them, you’ll know! PHEW!
  Sadly, I couldn’t touch them on my mini-rex if I wanted to. He’s way too squirmy to even trance.

  Hmmm, interesting.
  So both gender bunnies need to have their glands checked? I’ve always looked at ChaCha’s butt whenever I groom her. It looks nice and clean.

  lol… there are right on either side of the genitals, little slits you have to sorta open. If they need to be cleaned you will see a brown sort of wax, if it’s just pink skin your good

  I guess Sully’s were clean then, I did find some ‘pockets’ but there was nothing in them and I did not see any brown substance. He does have an oniony smell sometimes though, which was why I thought his glands needed to be cleaned… Guess he just has a unique smell haha

  What a cutie!! I have not found Hatter’s glands either….I did kind of smell his bum area and didn’t smell anything gross….Next month when I trim his nails again I will have to look harder….

  And as a gross-a-phobe I understand. BUT do them once or twice and you’re old hat! The first time I did them-I was upset for days-seriously…not joking.
  
  And now I do them with one hand =no problems, no worries. It’s just bunnies. You just-well it’s like being a mom you just can change the diaper. And it’s no different. It needs to be done so you do it And it’s easy.
  
  BIG KUDOS for working up the courage to try-and I know you’ll do fine. Check out the BB link for instructions-it’s really good actually Bottom line they are little flaps to the left and right of the peri area (bum)
