This is a lion head litter that will be ready between March 22nd and 28th. I have decided since day 1 that I love the dark one. The lady informed me that this was a boy and I was so excited because I love boys and how they are so attached to women (even though I do have a female cat and I love her just as much). Any names pop into your head for this baby? I like the following, but need opinions on what fits his look.
Bugsy
Buttons
Peanut
Gizmo
Oliver
Rex
Stuart
Sunny
I think I am going to go with Oliver though. I love that name for a boy bunny.
welcome here! i also love the name Oliver. i love O names… Oliver, Olivia, Otis, Olly…
is this your first rabbit? that is very exciting. have you been reading up on the info on house rabbits, i hope? there’s so much more to them than just a cage and food. they are a lot of work to care for, but it is worth it. take a look around this site and the House Rabbit Society website ( rabbit.org ) and please ask us if you have any questions.
welcome here oh they’re so adoreable! another member here (markusdark i think) has suggested writing the names on pieces of paper & seeing which one the bun picks up first to let them pick their own name. cute idea since all the names you suggested are sweet!
stick around here if you have any bunny questions or want to share bunny stories… the people here are all great & binky bunny has awesome diet & care guidelines!
Welcome!!! WOW are they ever cute!! I love the dark one too!! Thanks for all those CUTE pictures!!
I like Oliver or Gizmo as a name
I instantly picked Oliver from your list – and then paned down to see that is the name you like the most.
Once I looked at the photos – Yep, Oliver!
Thank you all for welcoming me and helping me choose a name. And yes, I know all about rabbit as I used to have 3, but the breeder wanted them back for showing. Good thing I didnt have them long to get attached or else she would have been out of luck. I also do NOT keep my rabbits in a small regular cage you buy at the store. I build them NIC cages, so they have lots of room to lay and run. I wish I could outlaw those small cages. So ya, he will have a knowlegable forever home here.
welcome welcome! wow, what a cute lil bunny – I love his coloring. I like Oliver too, you may wish to wait until he’s living with you to see if the name suits him though. I am VERY glad to hear you build your bunnies NIC condos, I’m sure he’ll be very happy!
I haven’t bought from a breeder – it surprises me that she wanted the bunnies back from you for showing.
Welcome ReeNa! I like Oliver too, I couldn’t help but notice the litter, I hope it isn’t pine and it is aspen instead. You must let us know when you pick him up!
I will let you know.
Stay close by as I will be posting more pics of him tomorrow and as much as she sends me some, so we can all watch him grow. You know I will have TONS of pics of him when he gets home to mommy.
Any one have a Harlequin? Please post pics.
OMG I would be excited too … what adorable lil tings!
I could not of made up my mind … but the dark baby is such a sweetie. And Oliver is such a fab name.
You lucky girl!
Dawn xx
I love Harlequines. Check out my avy, that’s my main Mini-Rex Stormy.

I just asked the woman when he was born and it was January 25th, so he is 5 1/2 weeks old in these new pics.
Cute bun Kokanee
Thanks!! he’s my new guy, Rupert
Oliver is adorable! And Rupert is quite a handsome bun
Everyone’s bunnies are so cute….I don’t think I’ve ever seen an ugly bunny! I have a lionhead w/ just a mane and I love him to death. He’s much nicer to me than my dwarf Jessica, but I love her too. Anyway that you can get 2 bunnies? I just know how happy my Jessi and Leo are together. Plus, I was thinking it would be awesome to have littermates.
I LOVE the name Oliver! He looks like an Oliver. My bunnies came w/ their names, so I couldn’t name them. However I did let my cats all pick their own names…except Wolfgang (being a former musician I felt like I’d have to have a Wolfgang or Ludwig @ some point). I did this by picking out a series of names and calling the cat those names until they responded. Its funny b/c my little orange girl, Katie, totally mewed & ran up to me, when I picked out her name. I’m guessing it sounded close to “kittie”. I also have a Max & a Phoebe, as well as the baby, Wolfgang. Wolfy was in Phoebe’s litter. We originally called him Wednesday b/c when he was born he was all white w/ a little black splotch on his forehead. He looked like he just got his ashes on Ash Wednesday. However after having him for so long and deciding to keep him w/ his mama…I felt the need to give him a more official name. Eventually he grew into all white w/ no more ashes.
Before scrolling down i thought Oliver was a lovely name, then i scrolled and it suits him i think. he’s gorge!!! You lucky lucky thing. 🙂
I’m a fan of the name Oliver, since I named my newest arrival Oliver. But you may find once he’s living with you a name will just come to you. He kinda looks like a Gizmo too. Or a Louie. He is adorable!!! Little fluffy baby bunnies are just the cutest things ever! Squeeee!!!
You guys are probably going to hate me for backing out of a deal, but I decided not to go with Oliver. I have decided to rescue a bunny instead. I mean I dont feel as bad because it is always better to adopt poor shelter bunnies than one from a breeder. Plus Im sure she will have no troubles finding him a home as he is cute.
I hope you dont think Im a bad person now. I think I am doing the right thing. Please let me know what you think.
i think it is totally up to u.. just out of curiosity why did you decide not to go with him?
i think it is better that you are going to get a shelter bunny as there are always plenty that need a home and it really is your decision just abit random to change your mind lol
but no it doesnt make you a bad person, like u said he will have no trouble finding a home.
i don’t think you’re a bad person for backing out of the deal. i’m sure she won’t have a problem finding a home or petstore that will take them. breeders would not breed if there was not a demand for baby bunnies. of course, there’s a slight chance he will not have the happy life he would have with you, but it’s not possible to save everybunny from every bad situation. you are going to get one extremely lucky rescue bun that is going to have a second chance at an excellent life.
yes my initial thought was the bun may not get the same life you were to give him.. then again the rescue bunny will already of been in one bad bunny situation so a better home would be nicer. ah i dont know it is ur decision, no point in worrying about it now huh? keep us posted on whatever u choose to do
I decided not to go with him when my cousin told me that her friends mom had an “accidental” litter and she is letting them loose when they are big enough if we dont take them. Only 2 survived, so I am taking one and so is my cousin when they are old enough. I just feel this was better because I know Oliver is in a good breeders home right now, but these babies are in far worse shape and I just cant stand to see someone just throw them out like that. So in my opinion, this was a better decision and I dont feel bad about it at all. Oliver is safe and I hope he always will be, but this bunny will be in good care and never have to fend for itself in the wild.
ohh well why didnt u say? of course it would be better this way that lady will find a home for that bunny but if those are jut going to be released where they will likely get hit by a car or eat something poisionus(sp) or whatever then it was the right decision! congrats on u
Well…..thank you Kim. I knew it was better.
ooo my goodness – she’s letting them lose if she doesn’t find homes for them?? I am very glad you and your cousin are taking them. it’s MUCH better that you rescue a bunny.
please print this for the lady : http://www.rabbit.org/easter/flyer/food-not-free.pdf
she needs to understand that it is not only illegal to set domestic rabbits loose, but they also do not have the skills to survive in the wild. It is Very very bad and makes me extremely upset that she was planning to dump them. I wonder if she’ll get her rabbits fixed now or dump the next litter too? I’m sorry this kind of behavior makes me very mad.
I am very pleased though, that you have the kindness if your heart to help these bunnies!
Well since she is so evil to want to let them go, I cant believe she actually waited to give him to me when he is old enough. Usually people like that dont care and just give it to anyone even sometimes newborn. I started a thread about him.
Congrats on the rescue, that is a good news that you are saving a bunny *off to find the thread you started*
