Snuggle Time!

Well I was shocked to see, as I walked past the xpen, Pip under the willow tent with Mimzy and GROOMING HIS EAR! *spazz!*

And then my daughter got this picture of the two of them snuggled up together. I am in shock. I think it is time to try a bunny sleepover.

So I am wondering…when it comes time to keep them together…under NO circumstances am I to place them both in either Pip’s or Mimzy’s personal habitats? The only place I really have to keep them together in is the xpen…but this is in the middle of the kitchen (nowhere else to put it) and that is going to be difficult to keep up. Should I buy a new habitat for them to live in together now, one that has no scent of either one as dominant?

i’m sorry i don’t remember, but what kind of set-up do you have now?  cages, NIC condo or what?  you may need to rearrange some things to make it work, but you might want to make them a nice large NIC condo.  it needs to be large enough to accomodate the both of them and allow them some space to be away from the other if they choose.  you can make a good size condo in a tiny space by building up rather than out.  if you’re using a cage, i would clean it good, very good… i’m talking “vinegar, hot water in the bathtub” clean and try attaching the xpen to it directly.  i don’t think you’d want to keep both of them in a cage without having an additional space always available.  like i said, you may need to rearrange or even remove some unneeded furniture, but it would be worth it to have a suitable space for them.

Thanks everyone! ^^ And Beka, I was actually thinking perhaps I’d get them a whole different setup for their lives together. The xpens I have are actually children’s Superyard XTs, a 5.5 foot by 3 foot enclosure used for restraining small children. I have two now, but was thinking maybe I should get a different pen for the ‘hutch’, maybe one of those multilevel ones so that each bun has his/her own space to retreat to?
Yes, there’s going to have to be some rearrangement of furniture. Hmm…this is going to take some doing. @_@

i am familiar with the superyard.  i work at a baby store.  lol.  i’m thinking that for the same area the one superyard takes up you could make a condo with 2 or 3 additional levels and that would be perfect for them.  are you creative with building stuff, or do you know someone who could help you?

Well, I can’t swing a hammer to save my life, but my hubby could probably do it for me. ^^
I’m going to have him work on a few sketches with me and we’ll see what we can come up with. I’d really like to make something with a few storeys, as the yard takes up some serious space, but I’d like to be able to have the sleeping/playing areas on a level with my face or close to without being too high up.
‘Course, they could fling some serious bb’s and other etcetera from something like that….lolz.
