I knew he could get through the bars but he hasn’t ever ventured far from the cage ..like the perimeter and then hops back in.

He is only 6 or 7 weeks old and very small..LOL…as is evidenced by I put them in their cage to go for a walk, came back…a little white face poked out from under the bed.    Stinker was just sitting inside looking at me like “I don’t know what happened!”

Any ideas of what I can put around the outside of the exercise pen so he can’t get out maybe?  I was thinking of wrapping the whole bottom with saran wrap in a couple of layers but he could probably chew out….or would ingest so much I would be scared for him.

        Suggestions?

plastic wrap is a terrible idea, you do not want your rabbit eating that. He could also suffocate in it if enough came off. I would line the bars with cardboard. You need to be very careful with the large spaced bars…he can fit through it now but later he could get his head stuck and possibly die. Very very dangerous.

You could poke holes in some cloth cut to the size of the xpen (maybe an old or cheap sheet cut in half?) and zip tie it to the inside of the cage so the baby can’t even just get it’s head through the bars…

Cardboard would work. Or stagger NIC grids along the bottom to fill in the gaps. A chicken/rabbit wire covering would work also.

Cardboard is prob the cheapest and easiest tho. And it’s just temporary until he’s bigger.

My bunny did the exact same thing. I made him a NIC cage and he can fit through the one inch squares. So I wrapped the whole cage in chicken wire, cutting out holes for the hay rack, support beams, and door. It looks like something you’d keep a werewolf in lol, but he sure can’t fit through the bars anymore

                    LOL Alina
Well, since I wrote this I should update. Snow has gotten so fat over the past week, I don’t think he fits anymore. Either that or it’s because I blocked the spot I saw him go in and out of. He had a couple of spots, but he’s not been out since that. LOL I don’t think he was getting much to eat before and of course, he was younger, but the breeder brought him in a pen with about 5 other babies so I’m thinking he had to fight to eat. Now he’s almost but not quite as big as Stinker, his cagemate.
