        Hello everyone!!

I have a 7 months old mini lop, she’s very playful and curious. Recently my grandmother who has some coordination  issues accidentally dropped a little plastic bottle of perfume on the floor (it didn’t broke but perfume went all over the place) and my rabbit quickly went and smelled it, i tried to stop but i didn’t see none of these things going.

Result: my bunny ended with a strong smell like on her nose and head, instantly i came with a bit wet wipe to try to “wash” the scent of her, but it didn’t happened.

It happened today and my bunny is sneezing a lot due the strong scent and i don’t know what to do, luckily there’s no discharge coming from her nose and she’s eating and drinking water normally, but she’s making little sounds while breathing, very low but i can still hear it. I think it might be allergies but i don’t know how to get rid of the perfume scent, it never happened before and i’m very concerned.

I’m massaging her nose to help her breathing and time to time i’m boiling water and putting on a bowl (away from her) to help with the air constipation.

        Thank you!!

Make sure to keep air circulating to dissipate the smell, but honestly if she now has audible breathing, I would recommend taking her to the vet just to get a medical opinion on how her airways sound. Perfume is a lot more than just scent, so inhaling those particles may be doing more than just irritation at a strong smell.

Hmm, yes I agree with Wick&Fable. There could have been some irritation that slightly constricted her airways, so I think a vet visit is a good idea.

Is the perfume actually ON her? Like on her fur? Or did she just run over and get a big nose full of the fragrance? I agree that the perfume probably irritated her airway.
