So just noticed our female has diarrhea. Its not liquid but more of an oatmeal look. You can see fecal pellets but with mushy fecal matter encompassing it. Gi Stasis….dont want to think that! Vet closed and the emergency room here are idiots.

She is eating greens. Drinking water. Gunna give her the infant gas relief stuff. Any home remedies come to thought to get us through the night????

Could she gotten a hold of something that she was not supposed to eat? A house plant? Has she been on antibiotics? Or has her diet changed?

Here’s a link to vets that may be rabbit savvy in your area – http://www.bunnyluv.org/veterinarians.htm
Now I know it’s after-hours, but many times if you call the vet’s office when it’s closed, they’ll have a recommended vet on their answering machine.

It’s good that she’s drinking water and eating greens. How is she acting though?

we have a good vet. Id rather wait it out. The emergency place knows nothing about rabbits except for one and shes not on staff tonight.

Not acting abnormal. Shes moving . I saw her floop. She just did a big stretch as I type. Theres mystery poo that could be her mate. Just waiting for her to poo so we can see for ourselves. One thing is shes eating around her greens. Just the dandelion. Ate them all. Shell go in the morning.

So her poo is back to semi normal. Took her to the vet. GI stasis meds, and change of diet. Any recommendation as for new greens??? They get romaine, cilantro, parsley, bok choy and dandelion. Vet recommended taking her off romaine. And a thumb concentrate of a fruit, which sounded kinda weird. Any recommendation for greens and fruit?

Hmm, of that group I’d be more suspicious of the Bok Choy (cabbae relative, can be gassy) that of the lettuce, but I am not a vet.  Other herbs maybe, things like sage or oregano?  Most bunnies love kale, but that one can be gassy too.

IMHO I wouldn’t introduce any greens until this clears up, maybe continue with whats OK but don’t add anything new… Keep us posted!!

I would also wait to introduce new greens until this is cleared up. I also think that Bok Choy might be something to take out of her diet right now.
Usually the greens that you feed aren’t a problem, but some bunnies do get sensitivities or are already sensitive. I also feed bok choy, but not on a daily basis.

I’m not sure about fruit concentrate because of the high sugar content – was your vet suggesting pineapple or ??? Did s/he say the reason for the fruit concentrate?

I am happy to hear that your bunny’s poo seem to be getting back to normal. If they continue to be a problem, then they may need to do blood tests to see if there is an underlying problem (illness, infection)

                            Keep us updated.
