Yes, that’s common. You may even see poops like beads on a string when they’ve swallowed hair. The hair irritates the stomach, and you can expect all kinds of funny tummy symptoms.
Eating hay is very important during moult to help their system. Make hay extra attractive to them by hanging a hay rack over their box, or put a handful of hay in the corner of their box.
As mentioned: brushing is very important. If your bunny is too young or too energetic to sit still you can put him/her on the “towel of shame” on a table. If that doesn’t help: gently pluck out loose tufts while you’re petting him/her. They will look very moth-eaten if you pluck them, though. Don’t worry about that.
We’ve always had Netherland Dwarf rabbits and they’re quite a handful, especially when young. Our previous rabbit Breintje was such a feisty bunny that we ended up plucking him too. Little mister Won’t-be-brushed looked like he was run over by a lawnmower 😆
