Clover hasn’t bitten Ben in 2 dates now :D. Sorry for the potato picture. I don’t want to interrupt.

We’re still working on it. Clover will snuggle up with him in the car but bites a lot on dates. My little man was very aggressive to her at first but his behavior got the last few months has been exemplary, and she just keeps biting. We did a 5 hour date yesterday that went mostly well. Unfortunately it usually takes her over an hour to calm down at which point he’ll groom her and she’ll give him a little grooming in return, but I don’t have 2 or more hours every day to give them because I have to watch them closely. It’s not all Clover’s fault, he really was crazy at her for a while but he’s over it and she’s holding a grudge. He’s realized she’s dominant and would move forward with bonding if she stopped biting. It’s not “groom me” nips but actually biting. Does anyone have any tips for helping her let go of a grudge? They do groom so it isn’t a hopeless situation but she just won’t let go of the past and he’s not being mean anymore!

If they tend to improve over the 5 hours I am thinking it might be time to start marathoning, or at least doing very long sessions. At this point, since they are past the fighting stage, I think more time is probably going to be your best bet. If you can block out some weekend days to try some 6-8 hour (or even 12 hr) sessions a few days in a row that might help push them past this plateau. Or if you are really ambitious (and have someone to help out a bit) you can go for full on 24/7 marathoning on the weekend.

We just spent about 12 hours on a date and it went surprisingly well. Both of my boys lost a couple of full mouthfuls of hair but I was able to expand the pen a lot larger than usual and at the end I was able to add the litter box. The box made Clover a bit more aggressive but everyone was holding their poop trying not to go on the floor so I had to lol. But I think it helped a lot that we were in a different room and I had the light really low. It had never occurred to me before to do it in dim light but she seemed less on edge.

That’s great! Yeah I have noticed the lighting makes a difference with mine too!

We spent 4 full days together over the last week and now that I’m back at work I don’t have as much time for full day dates and I’m trying to figure out what to do now. She got him good a few times and when she gets close he just jumps straight up. When she’s relaxing he’ll go put his nose by hers and if she’s sleepy she’ll ignore him, but her behavior really didn’t improve that much.  After work I’m going to try a short date with just the two of them and see what happens but I’m kind of at a loss at to what I need to do to get Clover to stop biting! I wasn’t comfortable doing an overnight.
