I was reading about rabbit sleeping habbits, and of course, in the wild they are Crepuscular… as is the deer and platypus, if you like stupid jepordy facts …. and I read that many house rabbits are the same, but I’ve also heard that house rabbits can adapt to their owner’s schedule.

What about your rabbits? (: Have they taken on your schedule? and… what is that, if I may ask?

My bunnies are typically active in the mornings, nap in the afternoons, active in the evenings, and sleep til the wee hours.

Oh, mine tend to keep me guessing. Pretty active in evening, though.
But, I would still like to know what crepuscular means

My bunny is pretty much on my schedule, other than her waking at 4 a.m. and throwing her food dish around occassionally! She lays low in the afternoons, is active in the evenings and at night when i am home from work and keeps it quiet till just before the sun comes up.

Crepuscular means most active near dawn and dusk.. early morning and late evening.

I’m often up during the evening, late, and wee hours and my wee one is catching ZZZs in his mini-haven about 8am – until he emerges around dusk and intermittently forages and sleeps. Around 5 – 6 he’s doing the Bunny500 as best he can within the confines of his pen and gnawing away on various edibles.

My bun sleeps during the day while I’m at work. She is ready to run around when I get home at 9:30 pm.

I’ve caught her napping around midnight once. Her eyes were open and her nose wasn’t twitching. It was quite a fright!

I’ve been home for 6 months now (unemployed) and I can’t say my bunnies have adapted to my schedule at all. For the entire time, they’ve been active in the morning until about 10am, then they sleep until the evening. Some days they wake up around 6pm, other days they’re napping until 9pm, but it’s always somewhere in there.

I also shared a room with them a few times lately (not by choice!) and they were up making a ruckus at 5am every day.

So in my experience, they’re more interested in adapting us to their schedule than the other way around! Though for someone who works all day, their schedule aligns with ours pretty naturally.

Yes, my rabbits have a schedule…

                          Their own.

ETA:  And if you must know… they also have an agenda.

DING DING DING! Good job Kim! <3 Yes, that is Crepuscular! Haha, I should have provided the definition to start with! Sorry ^^'

Tank lives in my room and seems to have adapted to me (or else his previous owners were like this) xD He’s actually really close, if I shift down to the middle of the bed I can pet him from up here easy

So, basically, he’s become nocternal xDDD I am usually awake until sometime between four and six AM, then I wake up anywhere from between noon and three PM, and he’s pretty quiet that whole time, unless he gets thirsty xD but then he just settles back down again. While I’m up all night playing WoW or chatting or whatever I wanna do, he makes plenty of rucus, and between threeish and fiveish PM he takes a lot of naps.

You’re lucky! Hannah was up throwing temper tantrums at 5am every day when she was in our bedroom at my mother-in-law’s house. At home I don’t see that much of a mess when I come downstairs, so I think she was worse because she knew we were there and weren’t feeding her or paying attention to her. Haha

Oh noo xDD that would be awful. I hate being woken up (waked up? Surely not) early xD but I guess sometimes I’m still not asleep yet at 5…

Except for today I got up early to take him to the vet, of course.

Maybe she doesn’t like your mother-in-law? xDDDD

Haha. I think she just doesn’t like new places. Her first few days with us she was a little terror too. I think she gets anxious and takes her anxiety out on all of the objects in her cage.

I don’t know how you can stay up til 5am! Staying up until 11 is hard enough for me 😛

Our Bunny Josephine tends to sleep all day be awake around 9-10pm then again awake at 4ish, which is when I get up for work…. I think we just accidentally align! Although on days off that 4am thing is no fun!

I noticed that when I first brought my bunnies home they were on their own schedule, made more noise during the night for the first few days, but shortly after they seemed to adjust to our times. The only time they might wake us up is if it’s a weekend and I’m not up as early. I also notice that when we keep the living room dark, like if we’re watching a movie or just didn’t turn the lights on as it got darker, they’ll be lounged out or sleeping more. I try to remember to turn the lights on because I think we’re confusing them! (We have lights off during our sleep time)

I’m like you jellyrose…I’m up at 4 too, so the bunnies expect their breakfast early! NOT fun on the weekends!!

Lily wakes me up @5am every morn, she sleeps most of the day, up in the evening but goes to bed @10 pm with or without us! LOL! That is normally our bedtime, & the alarm normally goes off between 5 & 5:30 am! I wish I could tell them that on the weekend I sleep in! LOL!

Zeus is fairly true to what’s expected for buns.  He’s quite active in the morning, and in the evening.  He stays active well after dusk, though.  And he usually gets up between 4am and 5am and starts moving around.  By the time I get up (between 8am and 9am), he’s DEMANDING for breakfast and to be let out.

Software and hardware are definitely different entities though, so I’m not surprised that it was so bad. Our hardware friends complain sometimes, but I know so many couples who work there, and nobody who has quit, so I think it’s a pretty good place to work. At my last job, people were quitting right and left because it was horrible!

They wake up around 4:30 am and proceed to be incredibly noisy until I get up and give them their morning pellets. By noisy, I mean they play tag and jump up on and into their boxes. They also dig pointlessly at the hardwood floors and knock over other toys. lol They stay active until later in the morning and then spend all day snoozing, and maybe munching some hay once in a while. When I get home from work (around 5:30-6) they are waiting for the rest of their pellets and greet me by running circles around my feet. They stay active until later in the evening and go back to being lazy until 4:30 am!
