sisters spayed on friday and fighting today?!Help

My 2 rabbit sisters had their op on friday, they seem to be back to their usual selves today cleaning eachother and sleeping next to eachother- or so I thought. I left their room (they are indoor buns) and came downstairs for a drink when I heard loud scuffling, I ran back upstairs and one of them was attacking the other one, which is unusual as they have never fought before, i seperated them straight away and then 20 mins later allowed them near eachother again and the same thing happened, she was attacked again and chased. so far I have left one in the cage and the other out of the cage to prevent fighting but so they can still see/smell eachother but what else can I do to ensure they will be best of friends again soon, I’d hate to see them seperated as they were best friends before earlier today 🙁 I feel SOO guilty any help please as im so worried

 

another thing is one of them (the one who was attacked) had a matt of feces stuck underneath her and urine all over her fur so ive tried to clean this off but cannot get it all as she is panicing too much, i feel so guilty as shes already had an op, been attacked her her own sister and is now alone and then man handled to try clean her.

Their hormones are still going crazy. I would wait at least a month to try to bond them. They may be sisters, but they will have to be bonded, via a neutral territory. Girl rabbits can be hard to bond, due to being territoral, but it can be done with patience and hard work.

They are also probably in PAIN!! :\ Rabbits, like most animals, become very defensive when they are hurting. It does take about a month for their hormones to die down anyway, but this could also be the cause of sudden viciousness towards each other. Keep them separated for a month like ChaCha said, but you can also allow them to smell each other through their cages (if you only have one cage and have bunny proofed their room, you can switch who is in the cage each night).

Let them calm down before trying to clean them up. Young bunnies often tolerate each other and will live together- but it is not a lasting bond- and the spay did not cause the bond to break. It could be pain or that they smell different that caused this scuffle- but it was going to happen eventually. You will have to keep them separate where they can’t harm each other for at least a month and then begin bonding them together.

Are they on any pain medication? They really should be.

Ditto waiting to let them calm down, but you also need to inspect those incisions-they could easily pop a stitch in a fight and it’s really nb they get to the vet to get that fixed if they have popped a stitch.
