  So my sister had the pleasure this morning of ruining my thanksgiving. We were sitting around and she made a comment about my rabbit being disabled because he has cancer. It shocked me because my dad died of cancer and I can’t believe she said it. Then I shouted at her and said he can’t help he has cancer and is disabled. Well its true. I am not talking to her most of the day today. It just upsets me how people are so rude towards animals because they have problems. He didn’t ask for this nor did he want it. So my dad was ruined.

  Just ignore them or don’t make them part of your life.
  
  I don’t want my family to be part of my life..
  Right now it is my 4th year of not seeing my family for Thanksgiving and will be third year of not seeing them on Christmas eve/day.

  I know what it’s like to have family members that say mean things to you and your animals. Every pet I have gotten while living with my in-laws they call them names and try to hit them. And these are small animals too so very fragile. The mom used to beat my husband’s dog till I put a stop to it. Can’t wait to get these people out of my life. ( -_-)

  I can’t really remember what exact words she said. My mom bought me a dvd on disabled rabbits for xmas and it was sitting on the table. I don’t know how the conversation got started. She said yea and that stupid dvd you have for your disabled rabbit who has cancer that stupid thing. I yelled at her about in tears and said he can’t help it he is disabled. Then my mom yelled at us to stop fighting on thanksgiving. It really hurt me and things she keeps saying makes me not want to associate with her. thanks

  Aw! Sorry this happened to you, I know what it feels like. I try to ignore comments like that but it is so hard. I hate it when people do things like that.

  That is why I have a zero tolerance policy. Family, friend, or otherwise, you say or do something that hurts or insults me, my family, or my pets and you are OUT. I have not had any contact with my extended fam on moms side since my wedding (about 3 1/2 years). And I am not on good terms with my older brother because what happened at the wedding was his fault. I can be civil with him because he lives with my mom now, so if I want to see my mom and sister, it means seeing him too. And what is between him and I is not their problem so I remain civil at best. I refuse to let other people hurt me and insult what I believe in. And in my honest opinion neither should you.
