My Moocow is a a silly boy, he’s never been much of a rabbit for chewing or digging, instead preferring to profusely lick everything (especially my pillow.) Just the last few days he’s started to dig a lot. His attempts to dig at the linoleum floor are adorable, there’s nothing wrong with this of course and I’m loving it, but I was just curious about the sudden change and wanted to see what other people thought. The weather’s just started to cool down from the hot summer here and I’m wondering if he senses the upcoming season change and has a nesting instinct creeping up in him or if it’s just a coincident.

I made a dig box for him when I first got him that he never particularly cared for, but maybe it’s time to give him a new one.

Hey! First of all, that photo of him all laying out is ADORABLE lol.

Has he been neutered… could be partially hormonal…although most bunnies love to dig… or could be he tried digging one time and found he loved it as well as seasonal as you mentioned.

I know thats not much help, LOL, but I had to post to tell you how cute he is!

I agre with nutmeg, it usually hormonal. You can give him to fleece to dig and push around, my Dutch loves to push it around, he’s a weird one but it keeps him busy.

oh he’s neutered. Always get my bunnies spayed/neutered (: He is just hitting his teenage years now though, so perhaps he’s discovering exciting new things. He has a fleece blanket in his pen, I’ll look into getting him more if he seems to dig at them. So far it’s been where the walls meet the floor. Maybe he’ll enjoy some fleecies piled in his dig corners. The temperature has definitely dropped off even more the last day or two so I think it’s definitely a combo. I’m loving watching these changes :p

and thanks nutmeg! He still loves pets and skritches but he’s become a bit more independent. When he was younger and I first got him he was the biggest cuddlebun.
