After almost two months of owning her our bunny (Bunnius) discovered today that she can jump on things.  I think she must have lived her entire life in a cage until now because she seems really startled by this discovery.  She has spent all afternoon jumping up on the couches and exploring and then she jumps off and thumps at the couch a couple times.  Until now she has only thumped when we put her back in her enclosure at night, but now she seems to be doing it almost in response to this startling new ability of hers, like she’s saying “Woah, that was close.”

My girl thumps before she jumps up somewhere like “attention I’m about to do this take necessary precautions” she will also do it when she gets there “I’m here now” thumping often means more than danger. Its trying to draw attention in some cases, in others it’s a I don’t like this and then other times its danger.
