What do you think are the signs of a happy and contented bunny aside from the binkies?

Sometimes I think my bunny is happy and other times not sure.  He opts to hang by himself sometimes.  I was in his room sitting with him as usual while he was lying by himself in my room.  Maybe I am not very good company, ha ha.

Have you read (and bookmarked) the Language of Lagomorphs site? I bet you would really like it. It talks about all the non-verbal communication bunnies do and how to read what they are saying.

I bet he’s happy. He is in a home with his own space. He gets attention, love, and good food. Shelters are scary places. They are loud and there are smells of other “predatory” animals nearby. Strange people in and out everyday. Sometimes not-so-good food. And bunnies are lucky if a familiar face comes once a day to give them a rub on the nose.

I think he is so happy and so content, all he can do is lounge around and think about how great he has it.

I have read it, he is just so laid back it is hard to tell sometimes. I want him to be happy so badly.

A relaxed bunny is a happy bunny, in my book. If they lounge around, feet out behind them (or in a squished out bunny loaf) that is happiness itself.

Yeah, in my experience, a relaxed bun is a happy bun. Stretched out, eyes half-closed… no fear. Bunnies in the wild have to live in fear, and domestic bunnies have some of that still in their instincts. But if a bunny can let go of that for a while, and feel completely safe, then you’ve done a great job!

                    FLOPPERS!!!!!!

Or.. limbs all tucked in.. dazed..

My rabbit LOVES when I pet her while she is flopped.. I have to approach her quietly of course, or she’ll run from me.. but she ADORES em head rubs when shes flopped out..
