I know it’s a ridiculous question, but has anyone ever fed their bun shredded wheat?  I know what it does to me, so I’m a little concerned.  I have a few peices left at the bottom of a bag, and I figure she’ll eat a few Cheerios as a snack sometimes, what about shredded wheat?  Sorry if it’s a dumb question, but I just want to make sure I don’t give her the poops or anything! Thanks!

Nope, bunnies shouldn’t have any wheat products – their tummies aren’t designed to digest processed wheat. Plus, processed food has sooo much sugar and salt in it which isn’t good. I would stick to safe treats like fruit (Cheerios aren’t good either, unfortunately)

Thanks so much! She’s only ever had 2-3 and just a few times, but thanks for the advice! I’ll stick to nanners, she loves them! Nanners and greens haha

Fruit is definitely the best treat! I just convinced Hannah that she likes bananas and it’s so cute to hear the smacking noises they make them they eat them. lol

Gave my 3 their first try of banana last night, and was it ever hilarious. Smudge didn’t even think twice, just grabbed the piece and ran. Moose was uncertain, til he nudged it with his nose and had to lick it off. Then he inhaled it. Monkey was the best, she tried to eat it without it touching her fur or whiskers. Ever seen a bunny pull back their lips and cheeks to eat something? yeah. That was Monkey lol.

Hahaha, that sounds awesome. We need a video!

Otto still looks at any fresh fruit like it’s a poison I’m trying to feed him. What a weirdo. Hannah has never eaten fresh fruit either until the banana, but now she loves it!

I put a banana in the fridge to keep it from going bad. And one day I pulled it out and sliced off a piece for both Eddie and Lolli. Well you would’ve thought it was poison from the looks on their faces. And all because it was COLD. who knew? Once it was room temperature, they scarfed it down. But they wouldn’t touch it till then. LOL Silly bunnies!

My buns get the twitches SO BAD when they eat banana! It’s the funniest thing ever! (You would seriously think Max was having a spasm with how much he wiggles around!)

This is funny. Shredded wheat is actually a recommended treat for chinchillas. Mine would literally bounce off the walls of their cage if they saw me coming with some. So rabbits can’t digest wheat products?
