hey everybody I just had a quick question to get some advice about

I have two Netherland dwarf rabbits

Honey (brown male) and Indi (white female)
honey has been fixed and Indi is yet to be of age so she still has not been

but they love side by side each other and as the time has gone on they seem to be getting so friendly with each other to the point of now indi grooming honey through the cage.   Is it still to much of a risk let them be around each other without the enclosure between them or should we continue to keep them apart until we get Indi fixed so there’s no hormones at play.  Would love some advice because it’s just so cute seeing them like this but I would hate for them to break the bond due to a fight

          welcome!

It would be best to keep them apart until Indi is spayed, so there’s no risk of hormones disrupting things, as you said. Adults tend to get a long with babies, but once puberty hits things can get tense and fights can break out randomly.

I think it’s great they are living side by side though and are acting friendly that way, that will help their bond in the future. If you start to notice any nose nipping or aggression through the fence you should add a buffer or some fine mesh to the fencing.
